Privacy policy

Fetch is a private app for one crew at a time. This page says what Fetch stores, who else handles it, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who is responsible

Joachim Lykke, Kranvejen 45, 1. tv., 5000 Odense C, Denmark, is responsible for Fetch and for the data described here. Questions about this page: info@fetch.family.

What Fetch stores

Your email address
You sign in with a code emailed to you. The address is how Fetch recognises you, and where sign-in and account emails go.
Your account id
A random id Fetch gives your account. It is not based on anything about you.
Your name in the app
The name your crew sees on the days you claim.
Your children's first names, their daycare's name and its opening hours
You type these in, so the week shows who is dropped off where, and when the daycare is open. The colour you pick for each child is stored with the child.
Your crew
The crew's name, its time zone, who is in it, and each member's role.
The week itself
Claims, confirmations, skipped days, hand-offs, the asks you send each other, and the invite codes you create.
Your phone (for notifications)
If you turn notifications on, Fetch stores the push token Apple issues for the app on that phone, and an id for that installation, so a reminder reaches the right phone. Both are deleted when you sign out.
Language and appearance
The language Fetch shows you, and whether you chose light, dark or the system's appearance. The language can come from your phone or from your own choice. We keep both so emails and notifications arrive in the right language and the app opens the way you left it.

What Fetch never does

Why Fetch stores it

Only to make Fetch work: to sign you in, to show your crew the week, to send the reminders you turned on, and to write to you about your account. The legal basis is the agreement you enter into when you create an account (GDPR article 6(1)(b)). We use it for nothing else.

Who else handles it

Fetch uses five providers that process data on our behalf. We have a data processing agreement with each of them, and each is used only to make Fetch work. All five are based outside the EU. The database and the reminder service run in Stockholm, while email and notifications pass through systems in the US. The transfers rest on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU's standard contractual clauses, depending on the agreement with each provider.

Supabase
The database and the sign-in system. Hosted in the EU, on AWS in Stockholm (eu-north-1).
Postmark
Sends the account emails: sign-in codes, the welcome email, and deletion codes.
Apple
Delivers notifications through the Apple Push Notification service.
Fly.io
Runs the service that sends reminders on time. Hosted in Stockholm.
Cloudflare
Serves this website.

Children

Fetch is for the adults in a crew. It is not in the App Store's Kids Category, and a child has no sign-in and no account. The only thing Fetch holds about a child is what a parent types in: a first name, the daycare's name and opening hours, a colour, and the days claimed for that child. A parent can change or remove it in the app at any time.

How long it is kept

What Fetch holds is kept while your crew uses it. If nobody in a crew has signed in for two years, its members get an email, and the crew is deleted a month later.

Your rights

Most of what Fetch holds you can see and change in the app itself: your name, your children, your crew, language and appearance. Beyond that, you can get a copy of your data in a form you can take with you, have it corrected or deleted, or have us limit what we do with it. Write to info@fetch.family from the address you sign in with, and we answer within a month.

If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to a data protection authority. In Denmark that is Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.dk).

Changes

If this page changes, the new version replaces the old one and the date below changes with it. We will not start storing anything new without saying so here first.
